With resolution at my side.

I think i have just thought up the two most boring resolutions of my life. It's almost embarrassing for me to admit to them, for my fear of being 'boring' overrides many many other fears in my life.

So here they are…

To be more organised
To get more sleep.

Wow. I almost fell asleep just then…

Sometimes living a 'fly by the seat of your pants' kind of lifestyle is exciting and liberating. But for me it's become quite soul destroying and fills me with anxiety over the smallest of things. I have literally burst into tears sometimes at the thought of what to make for dinner, realising i haven't got any of the ingredients i require, have over-scheduled and under-planned my week and have stayed up too late writing/reading/facebooking/tv-watching/god-knows-what-else-ing.

So instead of it being exciting, it's actually become quite stressful. And i'm done.

So this year i am letting go of the teenager within and embracing the woman i know i am. The peaceful, capable, organised, loving, energised mother, musician, girlfriend, family member and friend.

Not just for me… for him

  2. sounds like a great plan sarah. I know I can't cope with too much going on in my life, it makes me stressed and cranky. Good luck with it!

  3. Hello! Jude looks adorable. The getting of more sleep thing is definitely not boring, it's super desirable! I don't know why but the task of food shopping/thinking about what to cook is overwhelming for me too. I get to the supermarket and just go blank! Pathetic, really. I try to console myself with the idea that I have far too much *intellectual* type thoughts to bother with things as simple as ticking off grocery lists, dubious though it sounds. Kellie xx

    1. It's so good to know i'm not alone! I feel like such a douche bag, being so incapable of what other people make seem easy. But we're all good at different stuff! I have to remember that. And i always get there in the end x

  6. Dear Sarah, your resolutions look pretty much like mine! Ah, how I wish I could "let go of the teenager within and embrace the woman I know I am. The peaceful, capable, organised..." Well, you said it all ;)
I'll be supporting you from where I am, on your journey to a less stressful life. Hang on!

    1. Thank you! I guess when you write things down they make more sense and aren't as boring as you might have thought. And they seem to be quite universal, when i tell people how i shamble around most of the time and would love to quit doing this AS much i get sighs of agreeance and understanding. :)
